Ordered by the Royal House, it displays medallions with the Portuguese royal coat of arms on the panel work.
King João V ordered the first Berlins from Paris in 1727. The French builders were regular suppliers of the Portuguese Royal House.
Because of this, an intense correspondence was established with them in order to precisely define the size and decorative details of the vehicles.
The body is in Rocaille style with shell motifs. The panels are painted in two shades of green, imitating 18th century damask.
The body is entered using a hanging step.
On the roof there are six bonfire motifs.
